Common MAC Address Formats
- Colon notation (Unix/Linux) — AA:BB:CC:DD:EE:FF
- Hyphen notation (Windows) — AA-BB-CC-DD-EE-FF
- Cisco dot notation — aabb.ccdd.eeff
- Raw/No separator — AABBCCDDEEFF
When You Need Format Conversion
- Cisco configs — Require lowercase dot notation (aabb.ccdd.eeff)
